European Standard on Accessibility in French.

The French translation of the European accessibility standard used by the RGAA 4 is: "Norme européenne sur l'accessibilité utilisée par le RGAA 4."

The European standard "Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services" (EN 301549) specifies accessibility requirements for products and services in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). It provides guidelines for designing products and services that are accessible to everyone.

In this version 2.1.2 (2018-08), the accessibility criteria of WCAG 2.1 - Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), have been officially referenced.

This standard applies to a wide range of ICT products and services, such as software, websites, mobile applications, and other digital technologies. It covers accessibility requirements related to content, user interfaces, and navigation, among others.

It is the reference defined by the Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/2048 of December 20, 2018, concerning the harmonized standard applicable to websites and mobile applications. It was developed in support of the European Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of October 26, 2016, on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies, known as the "WAD" for the English acronym "Web Accessibility Directive."

The General Accessibility Improvement Repository (RGAA) makes the application of this standard mandatory (it is the one used for the update to version 4 of the RGAA).

Note: The standard is regularly updated to reflect technological advancements and ensure its relevance and effectiveness in promoting accessibility. The RGAA will take into account the version of the standard that will be in effect during its next update, as well as the accessibility requirements arising from Directive (EU) 2019/882 of April 17, 2019, on accessibility requirements for products and services (EAA), aiming to ensure accessibility of products and services in the European Union.
